Georgia and Kirby Smart are still in search of a quarterback commit in the 2027 recruiting class. They had set their sights on multiples targets, but up to this point they have all committed elsewhere.

That however appears to be changing as Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong reported that Georgia is generating serious “buzz” with an elite four-star quarterback.

Georgia is finding momentum with 4-star QB Peter Bourque

The above report shared a lot of exclusive recruiting updates for Georgia on Rivals, but it unfortunately is behind a paywall. Thankfully some of that information was leaked by other Rivals employees.

The piece of information that fans will care the most about is the tidbit on who Georgia’s quarterback target is, and that player is confirmed to be Peter Bourque.

Bourque is one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 recruiting class. According to 247Sports he is the No. 80 overall player in the country and No. 7 quarterback. He also is the top ranked player from his home state of Massachusetts.

Georgia has had their eye on Bourque for a long time and he has been one of their targets they have been pushing for the hardest. They’ve hosted him on a few visits throughout his recruitment, but no one was quite sure where Georgia stood with him.

That all changed with this report that indicates Georgia is making serious strides with him.

Bourque was originally committed to Michigan, but after they fired their head coach he decided to reopen his recruitment as he didn’t feel like a good fit for their new head coach. Immediately after decommitting he took a trip to Athens which was a great sign for Georgia’s chances. Things went silent after that, but this report shows how good of a spot Georgia is in right now.

Bourque hasn’t publicly indicated when he wants to commit, but as it stands right now Georgia should feel hopeful that they’ve finally found their new quarterback.
