Is Gunner Stockton one of the top quarterbacks who is eligible for the 2027 NFL Draft next year? Georgia fans would answer that with a resounding yes, but unbiased fans would tell you that he has some work to do to become one of the top QBs in next year's draft.
But he certainly is in the top 10, right? According to NFL expert Jordan Schultz he somehow isn't even a top 10 draft eligible quarterback.

Gunner Stockton somehow wasn't included in the top 10 QBs for the 2027 NFL Draft
Stockton is getting no love when it comes to conversations surrounding the 2027 NFL Draft. The quarterbacks in this draft class are extremely talented, but Stockton certainly should be in the conversation after the year he had this past season.
Just take Texas quarterback Arch Manning for example who is one of the consensus top quarterbacks in the country. They had nearly identical stats last season, but it was Stockton who actually had the upper hand after beating Manning head to head and winning the SEC.
That however clearly doesn't matter as Manning is a consensus top pick and Stockton is nowhere to be found.
So what does Stockton need to do to become one of the top picks in next year's draft? He obviously needs to have stats that match these other top prospects, but that has proven to not be enough. What he needs to do is greatly improve on his deep ball as that was the one thing holding him back all last season.
Stockton is a proven runner and leader who can stack up against any quarterback in those areas, but his deep ball has to be better. If he improves in that area though he undoubtedly would finally get the respect he deserves as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 NFL Draft class.
