Georgia's record setting 32-game home win streak has a chance to be broken this season. Alabama and Ole Miss could be the team to end Georgia’s impressive win streak at Sanford Stadium, but the most likely team to finally overcome Georgia in Athens is Texas.

Steve Sarkisian’s history of breaking home win streaks

Not only is Texas more than a formidable opponent this season, but Kirby Smart's enviable home advantage will slam into Steve Sarkisian’s impressive history of snapping long win streaks. He has broken a long home winning streak held by Alabama and Michigan over the last four years, which is about as good of a resume boost as there is in college football.

While home games against Marshall, Austin Peay, and Kentucky are likely solid wins, the Bulldogs do face challenges with the Tide and Rebels. Georgia however is favored in both of those games, so the expectation is for them to win. But Texas and the Arch Manning Road Show will be sweeping into Athens in mid-November, and the Sarkisian magic will be rolling at that point in the season.

Can the Longhorns do what hasn't been done since the 2019 season? Will Manning perform better than he did last season in a short stint against Georgia? Manning wasn’t good enough in a short stint against UGA last year, so he’ll have to improve fast if he can win at Georgia.

Kirby Smart and Georgia own Texas right now

With two decisive wins against the Longhorns last season and an apparent underdog status this season, Georgia is poised to spoil the coronation of Texas as SEC champions in 2025. Smart has a long track record of using every type of motivation available to create winning teams at Georgia, so being the underdog against a team they've already beaten twice should fuel this young team with the proper amount of fire and energy.

Nobody thought Georgia could win back-to-back national championships, but they did. Everybody downplayed the possibility that Smart could coach a team to an undefeated season. But he did. So, sure, people can believe the lore of Sarkisian's home game win disruptions, or they could accept the reality of the massive momentum and proven success of Smart has found with the Georgia Bulldogs.
