Police body cam footage clears the air after Georgia fan and officer fought in stands
In case you missed it, there was a video that went viral online after Georgia defeated Florida 34-20 of an altercation in the stands. This original video (which is posted below) appeared to show a policy officer tase and attack a Georgia football fan for no apparent reason.
The Jacksonville Sherrif's Office immediately launced an investigation into this incident. The below body cam footage was posted online on Monday, and it shows pretty clearly that the Georgia fan deserved the punishment he received.
Georgia fan deserved what was coming
According to the post above, this Georgia football fan was quoted saying, "I’m either going to kill a cop or not leave.” He also used a word multiple times that we will not be writing in this post.
So what initially looked like a video of a Georgia fan getting beat up for no reason turned out to be a Georgia fan getting what was coming for him.
From what's been posted online, the police allegedly got involved originally because of a mobile ticket dispute involving this fan. Then one way or another, the incident escalated to the point where the UGA fan felt the need to say what he said. And after saying something like that, the police officer likely had every reason to tase and use force to detain him.
It's always sad seeing moments like this happen in the stands because it takes away from the reason everyone is there to begin with. We go to football games to cheer on our favorite teams, not watch fans physically get into it with each other or the police.
Whether you are a Georgia fan or not, don't be like this guy. Don't be the reason that an incident like this occurs in the stands. It's a bad representation of yourself and whatever fanbase you represent. Go to the stadium to watch the game, cheer on your team, talk a little friendly trash to opposing fans, and go home.
It's really as simple as that.
