Mike White has a lot of work to do this offseason in the Trasnfer Portal. The portal just opened a couple days ago and the Bulldogs have already lost a whopping six players to the portal.
Thankfully Georgia has some good high school recruits coming in, but White has no choice but to hit the portal hard. Knowing that, here are three players to keep a close eye on who could end up committing to Georgia very soon.
Kansas center Bryson Tiller
Georgia has already lost two of their centers to the portal which includes starter Somto Cyril, so this is a position they have no choice but to pursue. There are a lot of good options out there, but they do need to be realistic when it comes to who they target.
Kansas center Bryson Tiller could be that guy for White and his staff.
He is a former top 50 recruit from Atlanta who had a solid freshman season this past year. He put up 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game and will likely only go up from there next season. This would be a home run addition for Georgia that they should do everything they can to add.
Kennesaw State guard RJ Johnson
RJ Johnson is an elite guard from Kennesaw State who helped lead his team to the NCAA Tournament behind his big run in the Conference USA Tournament. In fact, he was the tournament MVP who helped play Gonzaga really tough in the first round of the Big Dance this year.
Johnson put up 14.5 points and 4.0 assists per game and is clearly ready to make the jump to a bigger school. Georgia has the open playing time that could attract him and has a system he could really thrive in, so fans should cross their fingers that Johnson ends up a Bulldog.
Butler guard Jamie Kaiser
Georgia could use another guard from the portal, and former top 75 recruit Jamie Kaiser is a great option for them.
He has played two seasons in college so far and finally found his footing at Butler this past year as he averaged 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He was an efficient shooter from behind the arc as well which is something Georgia could always use more of.
Georgia hasn’t been too public with who their targets in the portal are, but these are three players who could pull the trigger and commit to UGA. And if they do Georgia’s stock heading into next year would really be trending in the right direction.
