Georgia football improved their chances of winning the SEC this season by defeating Florida on Saturday 24-20. But even though Georgia is in a decent spot in the standings right now, they can't afford another loss in their last two conference games this season.

Up next for Georgia is their final road game of the season against Mississippi State, but after that is a massive showdown with the Texas Longhorns. Texas has recovered after their slow start to the season and have climbed all the way to No. 13 in the AP Poll after four straight wins. So this game clearly is going to be very challenging to win, but the SEC decided to give the Longhorns a significant advantage heading into this game.

SEC grants Texas's biggest wish heading into their matchup vs Georgia

As mentioned, Georgia has one more game against Mississippi State before playing Texas on Nov. 15. The Longhorns on the other hand do not have another game before heading to Athens because they are on a bye this week.

This extra week off is a huge advantage for Texas because it gives them an additional week to prepare for Georgia. They also will have plenty of time to get healthy before playing Georgia while the Bulldogs have a chance of suffering more injuries this week against Mississippi State.

Beating Texas was always going to be difficult, but the SEC did them no favors by gifting Texas a bye week heading into this matchup. It's also worth mentioning that this is the second time this has happened this season as Auburn also had a bye week before playing Georgia when the Bulldogs still had a game the week before.

Georgia was still able to find a way to beat Auburn even if that was the case, so the hope is that they will be able to overcome this advantage the SEC gave Texas as well.
