Georgia passed their biggest test of the regular season by beating Alabama this past weekend on the road. They still have a few games that will challenge them the rest of the season, but Alabama likely was their most difficult opponent on their schedule this year.

Up next for Georgia is a date with Auburn at home. On paper this seems like an easy victory for Georgia since the Tigers haven't shown many signs of improvement under new head coach Alex Golesh, but the SEC did give Auburn a small advantage by giving them their bye week leading into this matchup.

Auburn and Georgia couldn't be more different entering their rivalry matchup

Auburn and Georgia are polar opposites entering this game. Georgia is riding high after beating Alabama and ascending to No. 1 in the AP Poll. Auburn on the other hand lost their most recent game and are nowhere near being ranked.

Auburn however will be more fresh than Georgia during their matchup this weekend. The Tigers were on a bye this past week while Georgia played their most physical game of the season. Auburn had a chance to rest and get their injured players healthy while Georgia was in a dogfight after already missing a handful of key players.

This is the second year in a row that the SEC has given Auburn their bye week before playing Georgia. Last year Auburn put up a good fight and had a chance to upset Georgia, but it remains to be seen if this bye week will benefit them at all.

Georgia will still be expected to win this game, but Auburn coming off a bye will likely make this a more competitive game than if they had played this past week like Georgia did.

Vegas doesn't think Auburn has a chance

Even if Auburn has this one advantage over Georgia it likely will not matter. The average college football fan would pick Georgia to win this game by a comfortable margin, and that includes Vegas as well.

As of now Georgia is favored by 19.5 points over Auburn, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook. That implies that Vegas thinks Georgia will win this game rather easily, but even Vegas might be buying into the bye week advantage as well.

Georgia has won five of their six games this season by at least 24 points. Auburn is 3-2 and hasn't looked that good all season, so it doesn't seem like a stretch for Georgia to beat them by at least three scores like their other games outside of Alabama. Vegas however doesn't even have Georgia favored by 20 points, so maybe they think Auburn coming off a bye will help them.

At the end of the day all Georgia needs to do is win, but it would be nie for them to win by a wide margin and go into their bye week feeling as good about themselves as they can.
