Georgia knows who the traditional programs in the SEC are that they need to be worried about. Teams like Texas, Alabama and even LSU will always be a serious threat to Georgia each and every year, but Texas A&M is quickly becoming a program they can't overlook.

The Aggies were really good last year, and it doesn't look like they're going to slow down anytime soon.

Texas A&M currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, and it isn't even close. The Aggies already have a whopping seven five-stars committed to their recruiting class which includes wide receiver Eric McFarland who just chose A&M over Georgia this past weekend.

Texas A&M is a program that Georgia no longer can ignore

Georgia had a chance to stop Texas A&M in their tracks, but they unfortunately weren't able to get the job done in McFarland's recruitment. Now they have to worry about Texas A&M being a serious threat to derail their dominant run in the SEC for years to come.

Since the Aggies joined the SEC they haven't been a program Georgia has even had to think about. They've somehow only played Texas A&M one time since they joined the conference which Georgia won. They also haven't really come close to winning the SEC either, so UGA really hasn't had to think about the Aggies all that much.

That changed last year when Texas A&M almost made it to the SEC Championship game, and now that they have seven five-stars joining their program next year they are more than likely going to stay at the top of the SEC.

Kirby Smart and Georgia won't be scared of this new challenge, but they won't be able to afford overlooking them like most programs have done since they joined the SEC.

What can Georgia do to better position themselves for the future?

The good news for Georgia is that they are prepared to take on any challenge that comes their way, so when they play these star freshman during the 2027 season they won't need to be worried.

The Bulldogs have the best head coach in the country. On top of that, they also will always have one of the best rosters in the country. Those two facts alone will make it possible to beat any team that stands in their way which includes Texas A&M and all of their elite incoming recruits.

Georgia does however need to do a little better job at recruiting though. They are still outside the top 10 classes in the country in the 2027 recruiting class, and if that holds Georgia's future could be in trouble. Georgia thankfully has a few targets they are in a good position with that will announce their final decisions soon, but they need to continue recruiting hard so they can bring in a lot of good talent like A&M is.

Regardless of what happens Georgia is in a position to find success for years and years to come. It will be interesting to see how this recruiting class for the Aggies unfolds, but Georgia will be ready to face them once they earn the right to play the best program in the SEC.
