One of Georgia's biggest fears entering this season is that Carson Beck and Miami would have a better year than them. After the Hurricanes finished the regular season at 10-2 and Georgia won the SEC it looked as if UGA would finish with the better season. But that no longer is the case.

Miami and Beck have now won three playoff games en route to the National Championship game that will be played next week. Georgia on the other hand lost their first playoff game and fell short of their ultimate goal for the second season in a row.

So as tough as it is to admit, Miami and Beck had the better season compared to Georgia even if they don't win the National Championship game, but it's hard to deny all of the help the College Football Playoff committee gave them.

CFP committee gave Miami, Carson Beck every advantage they could

The fact that Miami was even in the playoff to begin with is pretty remarkable. Many believed that Notre Dame should've made the playoff ahead of them, but the Hurricanes were granted the final at-large spot even though they may not have deserved it.

The next thing that went Miami's way was that they got to play Texas A&M in the first round of the playoff. The Aggies went 11-1 during the regular season, but they played the easiest SEC schedule possible. Seven of their eight conference games were against teams who finished in the bottom half of the SEC standings, and the only team that finished in the top half (Texas) they lost to.

Miami was also gifted an extra day of rest compared to Ole Miss before their semifinal matchup, and they will get that same advantage again heading into the National Championship game. And it's impossible to not mention that Miami will get to play the title game in their home stadium.

So while Miami has more than earned their way to the National Championship game, the CFP committee made sure to help them out as much as they could along the way.
