Georgia has an opportunity to be just the third school to win three straight SEC Championships since the conference introduced the SEC Championship game in the early 1990s. Accomplishing that will be no easy task thanks to the extremely difficult schedule Georgia will embark on this season, but it could be a lot worse.

In fact, On3 doesn't even think Georgia has one of the five most difficult schedules in the SEC.

When looking at the schools with the most difficult schedules though it is easy to see how the SEC may have given Georgia a small advantage when it comes to trying to win the conference again this season.

Georgia's biggest competition have the most difficult schedules in the SEC

It was about time that the SEC gave Georgia an easier schedule. The last two years saw the SEC get much more dificult with Texas and Oklahoma joining the league, and the conference made sure to make life extremely difficult during those two seasons by forcing Georgia to play both Texas and Alabama each year.

That didn't stop Georgia from winning the SEC either season, but these distinct disadvantages were getting a bit old.

Fast forward to this year and the SEC actually gave Georgia some help. Out of all the teams in the SEC there are only a handful that are capable of winning the conference, and three of those schools are Oklahoma, Texas and Alabama. And it just so happens that they have to play some of the most challenging schedules in the league.

Now that the SEC no longer has divisions all that matters is finishing in the top two of the conference standings. That still won't be easy for Georgia, but they will benefit from an easier schedule compared to some of their biggest competition.

So maybe that is why Vegas has Georgia as one of the favorites to win the SEC this season.

Georgia still has to endure a very challenging schedule as they look to 3-peat in the SEC

Even though Georgia doesn't have one of the most challenging schedules in the SEC, their schedule is still very challenging.

They have to play two very difficult road games against Ole Miss and Alabama while also playing host to Oklahoma early in the season as well. Florida and Auburn are ready to finally beat their rival under their new head coaches too while Vanderbilt could sneak up on Georgia if they aren't careful as well.

Then there's Georgia Tech at the end of the season who has been close to upsetting UGA the last two years and a South Carolina team who one expert thinks will pull off the upset over Georgia this year.

But Georgia has to love their chances at winning the SEC again this season. No one is saying that it will be easy, but at Georgia it is an expectation to win the league, and if they do they might have to tip their caps to the conference for giving them a little help.
