Georgia football has been known to use some unique methods to help them on the recruiting trail. One of those methods is using former players to help recruit the next generation of Bulldogs to Georgia.
That is exactly what took place over the last month as former Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker helped UGA earn their most recent recruiting win.

Georgia used former standout linebacker Jalon Walker to help earn latest commitment
Sunday marked a big day for Georgia on the recruiting trail as they earned a commitment from four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle. Toodle was previously committed to rival Auburn and is the No. 166 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
These reasons alone make this commitment a big deal for Georgia fans, but the way that UGA got to this point makes it that much better.
Kirby Smart and his staff still handled a vast majority of the recruiting effort with Toodle, but they called on Walker to help in that effort as well. Walker just finished his historic career at Georgia this past season where he won the 2024 Butkus Award which goes to the nation's best linebacker. That fact alone speaks volumes to any linebacker thinking about attending Georgia.
So the moment Walker linked up with Toodle in the image above likely was the point in time where Georgia became the favorite to win this recruitment. There's a good chance Georgia still would've flipped Toodle from Auburn without Walker's help, but Walker definitely made this a lot easier on Georgia's staff.
Now the hope is that the recruiting momentum Georgia earned from this commitment won't stop anytime soon, and thankfully it doesn't appear it will because a Georgia insider predicted 10 commits in the next 10 days for Smart and the Bulldogs.
