Georgia has dominated Florida for a very long time as the Bulldogs have now won five straight games against the Gators. Typically when a team dominates their rival that much on the field they also control the rivalry on the recruiting trail, and that has been the case fin this rivalry.

Florida however won't ever stop from trying to beat Georgia for a recruit, and it just so happens that they are the top two teams battling for elite defensive back Bryce Willingham.

Georgia, Florida emerge as top two teams for Bryce Willingham

It’s a good day whenever Georgia beats Florida. Whether it’s in football, baseball, cross country or chess, beating the Gators is always fun. In fact, watching their season end in dramatic fashion against a different team is really fun too.

This excitement extends to the recruiting trail as well, and it just so happens that Georgia and Florida battle for a lot of the same recruits. One of those recruits in the 2028 recruiting class is Willingham who is a four-star corner from Atlanta.

Rivals recent recruiting update shot him all the way up to the No. 124 player in the country. That is someone that Georgia could always use on their team, so he is a recruit that should expect to hear from Kirby Smart and his staff a lot going forward.

Rivals also has Georgia as the favorite to win his recruitment, giving them a 43 percent chance to bring him to Athens. Florida however is running in second place as they have a 21 percent chance.

This will be an interesting recruitment to follow for the next two years, especially if Georgia and Florida remain the top two teams in his recruitment. Hopefully Willingham being from Georgia and the fact that UGA has owned Florida for a decade now will help Smart win this recruitment.
