Five-star quarterback Jayden Wade committed to Georgia last November. He was still a sophomore in high school when he made that decision, and at the time he was one of only a few players in the 2028 class to commit to a school.
Wade recently spoke about his commitment to Georgia and why he chose to do so in the first place, and one word that kept coming up was “loyalty.”
“What keeps me connected to Georgia is the loyalty they have shown,” Wade said via dawgnation.com. “They chose me when nobody else saw something in me and they saw something in me. They’ve been loyal to me ever since the eighth grade. They offered me in eighth grade.”

Georgia’s loyalty to Wade is one of the biggest reasons why he committed to UGA in the first place. Wade shared that Georgia was one of the first schools to seriously recruit him, and that faith they demonstrated dating back to middle school is one reason why he chose Georgia.
Georgia continues to remain loyal to Wade even today. They are doing their due diligence by lightly recruiting other quarterbacks in the 2028 class, but they are only doing so just in case Wade ever decommits. Georgia has shown they will not replace Wade in their recruiting class, and that loyalty matters to him.
Wade has returned the favor to Georgia by remaining loyal to them as well. He has many other schools who have expressed interest in him since committing to Georgia, but so far he has reciprocated little interest back to those schools.
Wade’s commitment to Georgia so far has been uneventful. That however could change in the blink of an eye, so it’s important that Georgia never stops recruiting him until he can sign with the program next December.
What’s next for Georgia and Jayden Wade?
Georgia will have to continue to fend off attempts to flip Wade over the next year. LSU and Michigan are the two schools pushing the hardest right now, but so far they haven’t been able to make any progress.
Georgia needs to just focus on their relationship with Wade and continue to improve it. That so far has led to Wade not showing much interest in any other school, so it wouldn’t make sense for Georgia to change their strategy now.
Wade will be in Athens in two Saturdays when Georgia plays Western Kentucky on Sept. 12. Wade’s high school team is on a bye that weekend, so his visit is expected to last multiple days which gives Georgia ample time to grow even closer with Wade.
So far this is Wade’s only fall visit on the books, and as long as that remains the case then Georgia won’t have to worry too much about him flipping.
Wade has confirmed that he won’t reclassify to the 2027 class which means Georgia has to hold onto his commitment until next December when he can sign with the program. A lot can change from now until them, but Georgia is in a great position with Wade at this current point in time.
