Every Georgia football fan remembers the name Jared Curtis. He was the Bulldogs' former five-star quarterback commit in the 2026 recruiting class that ditched Georgia for Vanderbilt right before signing day.
This made every Georgia fan both upset that he left and sad that they won't get to see a talent like him play in Athens. But overtime that sadness has turned into a sense of relief.
That relief has never been more true then after news broke that Curtis will be starring in a Hollywood movie. That is the last thing that anyone at Georgia would want to see their quarterback do, and former Georgia great Aaron Murray made sure to publicly express exactly how every UGA fans is probably feeling after seeing this.
Maybe get a few snaps as a SEC QB first… https://t.co/WQ78qQi9Cu

Jared Curtis is making Georgia thankful he left for Vanderbilt
Should any college football player be spending time filming a movie? Probably not, but if anyone were going to do it then it should be someone who is an established veteran who is also one of the best players in the country.
Curtis is not that player.
That is exactly what Murray is pointing out. He is saying that Curtis should probably get a little experience under his belt before doing something like this, but instead he is acting in a movie before taking one collegiate snap.
This begs the question to be asked, is Curtis serious about being the best quarterback he can possibly be? At this point it doesn't seem like he is and for that reason Georgia should be thankful he changed his mind and went to Vanderbilt instead.
Georgia will make Jared Curtis regret his decision
Instead of filming a movie, Curtis should've been spending all offseason preparing for the season ahead. One of the reasons why he left Georgia for Vanderbilt was because he wanted to start as a true freshman this fall. The Commodores haven't confirmed he will be their starter yet, but all signs point towards that being the case.
Starting in the SEC as a true freshman quarterback might be one of the hardest things to do in college football. Any player who is going to attempt that needs their full focus and attention on preparing for the season all offseason, and it's clear that Curtis is not doing that.
This is great news for Georgia because they get to play Curtis and Vanderbilt the fifth week of the season. This opportunity for revenge is exactly what everyone at Georgia wanted after Curtis left for Vanderbilt, but this opportunity is even better after this news broke.
Beating Georgia in Athens is almost impossible to do. That is especially the case with a true freshman quarterback. But to bring a true freshman quarterback to Athens for their fifth start of their career who may not be as focused as they should be feels like a guaranteed victory for Georgia.
Curtis and Vanderbilt might think otherwise, but Kirby Smart and Georgia will show them just how big of a mistake he made later this season.
