Georgia's worst nightmare came true Thursday night when Miami beat Ole Miss to clinch their spot in the National Championship game. This gives former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck a chance to win a National Championship, and that is the last thing anyone affiliated with UGA wants to see.
Beck played a very good game against the Rebels as he helped lead the Hurricanes to victory. But it was his game-winning touchdown that was the most impressive thing he did during this game.

Seeing Beck win this game with his legs was tough to watch, but it's even more difficult to watch after realizing this is the exact situation that Georgia made a big mistake that cost them in their game against Ole Miss.
Carson Beck, Miami did what Georgia should've done
Georgia faced a third and goal from a similar spot on the field against Ole Miss with under a minute to play. They were also trailing by three points, just like Miami was before Beck scored the game-winning touchdown.
Georgia called a similar pass play as Miami did, but they threw an incompletion that left too much time on the clock. This allowed Ole Miss to march down the field and kick a game-winning field goal. Georgia however should've called a much different play that would've resulted in Gunner Stockton running the ball like Beck did.
If Stockton came up short then it wouldn't have been the end of the world. Ole Miss had zero timeouts and Georgia could've ran the clock all the way down to about 15 seconds which would've forced overtime. Instead Georgia threw an incompletion and gave Ole Miss plenty of time to win the game.
That play call was already difficult to overcome, but seeing Beck and Miami clinch their spot in the championship game by doing what Georgia should've done makes it even more challenging to get over. The only thing now that could make Georgia feel better is if Miami loses to Indiana, and thankfully Vegas oddsmakers believe the Hoosiers will win.
