The Elite 11 finals is underway which is arguably the biggest recruiting event of the offseason. This event brings the top 20 quarterback recruits in the country together to compete to see who can perform the best on the biggest stage, and Georgia fans usually have a QB they can cheer on.
Unfortunately they do not have a quarterback commit in the 2027 class yet so they do not have anyone to support during the Elite 11 finals. But to make matters even worse, former Georgia target Peter Bourque, who many thought was going to commit to UGA, was the Rivals MVP during day two of the Elite 11 finals.

Georgia's former top target rubs more salt in their wound during Elite 11 finals
Last month Bourque was down to just Georgia and Virginia in his recruitment. Georgia had a lot of reasons to be hopeful they would pull his recruitment out, but he ultimately chose Virginia Tech over them.
Kirby Smart was left scrambling as he continues his search for a quarterback in the 2027 class, but losing Bourque is proving to be costly. Everyone knew he was a really good player, but there was believed to be a gap between him and the top ranked quarterbacks in his class.
That gap however may not actually exist because Rivals believes he outperformed everyone during day two of the Elite 11 finals.
So not only does Georgia still not have a quarterback commit in the 2027 class, but they have to watch one player they really wanted show that he is much better than anyone originally thought.
Georgia's final hope at QB has fallen short at Elite 11 finals
Georgia does have Colton Nussmeier they can cheer on at the Elite 11 finals who seemingly is their next top target. Nussmeier is down to his final two schools and Georgia thankfully is included in that list, but as they learned with Bourque they could still lose his recruitment.
While Nussmeier is at the Elite 11 finals he has not stood out during the event yet. That doesn't mean he is someone Georgia should stop recruiting, but it is a little disappointing to see Georgia's new top target struggle on the biggest stage.
Nussmeier will head to Arkansas next weekend for an official visit before making a trip to Georgia the following weekend. It is expected for him to announce a commitment soon after that trip to Athens, so in a few short weeks Georgia could finally have their coveted quarterback commit Smart has been desperately searching for.
