Former Georgia football quarterback Carson Beck did not have a happy departure from UGA. That however has not impacted how he looks back on his time at Georgia.
“Georgia will always be family to me, you grind with those guys,” Beck shared via ugawire.usatoday.com. “I came in as an 18-year-old kid, I was a child with no idea of what was ahead. You build relationships that will last a lifetime, you work your tail off. I wouldn’t be the person or player I am today without Georgia, and I’ll always be a Bulldog, I am very appreciative of my time there.”
Carson Beck has mixed feelings about his time at Georgia
It’s clear from the above statement that Beck did enjoy his time at Georgia. And it’s easy to see why because of all of the success he found during his career in Athens.
But it also does sound like there’s a part of Beck that doesn’t miss playing at Georgia either. On Tuesday at ACC Media Days, Beck shared that transferring to Miami was one of the “best decisions” of his life. On top of that, he did also refer to Georgia as his “last school” instead of just using Georgia’s name.
But at the end of the day it seems like Back looks back on his time at Georgia very fondly instead of regretting it. Sure his departure was a shock to Georgia fans and rubbed some people the wrong way, but at the end of the day Beck did what he thought was best for himself and he shouldn’t be blamed for that.
Georgia fans now get to look forward to the beginning of the Gunner Stockton era. Even though there are questions about how good he will be as UGA’s starting quarterback, most fans feel ready to move on from Beck and begin the journey with Stockton under center.
