Just a few days after Georgia's loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, quarterback Carson Beck, who had to stand on the sideline during the game following a UCL surgery, announced that he would enter the transfer portal instead of staying with the Bulldogs or declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Less than 24 hours later, Beck had committed to the Miami Hurricanes.
Immediately, the internet began trolling the Bulldogs' former starting QB. Whether it was for his girlfriend playing basketball at Miami, Beck running away from the SEC, or something in between, football fans unleashed their thoughts on the quarterback's move.
The dig at Miami for its Championship odds remaining at precisely zero percent despite Beck joining the lineup was one of the more mild insults tossed the quarterback's way.
Beck struggled with turnovers during the 2024 season, throwing 12 interceptions and just 28 touchdowns over 14 games. He suffered 18 sacks and gained just 71 rushing yards during his disappointing final year with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Of course, fans had to get a jab in about Beck only committing to the Canes because his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, plays for the Miami women's basketball team.
Even the Hurricanes' WBB social media managers couldn't stay out of the mix, with a simple but notable emoji after Beck's commitment was announced.
Jokes aside, Beck will enter his fifth season of collegiate football when he takes the field with the Hurricanes for the first time. Beck's NIL deal at Miami is reportedly set as a one-year, $4,000,000 deal for the veteran quarterback.
