Georgia football once again had a very productive day on the recruiting trail on Wednesday. This includes earning multiple commitments as well as scheduling an official visit with their top target in the 2026 class. On top of that, excitement is building for Georgia's game against Alabama this season after the game time for that showdown was announced.

But let's begin with the two commitments Georgia earned on Wednesday, because news doesn't get any bigger than that.

Georgia lands 2 impactful commits

Georgia has been on fire on the recruiting trail over the last week, and that continued on Wednesday with not one commit, but two.

The first commitment on Wednesday came from four-star offensive lineman Zykie Helton, who chose the Bulldogs over Alabama, Georgia Tech and Florida State. This commitment was then followed up by a commitment from the No. 1 punter in the 2026 class Wade Register.

Georgia has now earned four commitments over the past eight days which is quite the impressive haul, and at this rate more great news could be coming for Georgia any day.

Georgia will host Alabama at night

Georgia arguably has the best home football schedule in the history of the program this season. There is one game however that stands above the rest, and that is their matchup against Alabama on Sep. 27.

This will be the biggest game of the regular season for Georgia as they look to get revenge after their heartbreaking loss to the Tide last season. And while winning this game will be challenging, winning did get a little easier after the kickoff time for this game was set for 7:30 pm EST on Wednesday.

This means that Sanford Stadium will be as loud as ever before, which will give Georgia the best chance possible to win this game.

Tyler Atkinson is finally visiting Georgia

One of Georgia's top targets in the 2026 recruiting class is five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 9 overall player in the country and the top ranked player from the state of Georgia.

Many recruiting experts have named Georgia as the leader in Atkinson's recruitment for some time now, but that hasn't appeared to be the case the last few weeks. Reason being because Atkinson officially visited Clemson and Oregon the last two weekends but was yet to schedule an official visit to Georgia.

That however changed on Wednesday when Atkinson announced that he will be in Athens on an official visit this weekend. Hopefully this visit goes well, because a strong visit could lead to a commitment for Georgia.
