Georgia football once again was all over the college football news cycle on Tuesday. A lot of the news surrounded their upcoming matchup against Ole Miss, but there was some breaking recruiting news that hit the program hard as well.

Unfortunately that recruiting news was something no Georgia fan wanted to see.

Georgia loses 4-star commit to Auburn

Georgia received some terrible news on Tuesday as four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle decommitted from UGA. And to make matters worse, he chose to flip to Auburn.

This decision was shocking for a few reasons, mainly because Georgia just beat Auburn for the ninth year in a row days before this announcement. On top of that, Toodle already flipped from Auburn to Georgia earlier this summer as well.

Either way, this is a tough loss for Georgia, but Toodle was probably never the best fit in the first place if he was willing to flip to Auburn.

Lane Kiffin is attempting to get in Kirby Smart’s head

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin did what he does best on Tuesday. Kiffin is known for being a coach who comes up with unique strategies to try and find an edge, and it appears that he attempted to do just that by trying to get in Kirby Smart’s head.

When speaking about the upcoming matchup between Georgia and Ole Miss, Kiffin spoke a lot about how great of a coach he thinks Smart is. While that may seem really nice, he went above and beyond with his praise to Smart to the point where it became too much.

Kiffin may have just been wanting to show a lot of respect to Smart, but that doesn’t sound like him. Instead he might’ve been attempting to make Smart feel overly confident in hopes it will distract him in his preparations for Saturday’s game.

It’s impossible to know what Kiffin’s true intentions were, but the possibility of Kiffin trying to get in Smart’s head can’t be overlooked.

5-star Kemon Spell updates standing with Georgia

James Franklin bring fired by Penn State on Sunday ended up being great news for Georgia. The Bulldogs were already targeting five-star running back commit Kemon Spell before this news, but Franklin’s departure changed everything.

Spell almost immediately decommitted from Penn State after Franklin was fired. He then shared the eight schools that stand out to him the most which included Georgia, but it showed that the Bulldogs have some stiff competition going forward in his recruitment.

Spell has scheduled a visit to Georgia for a game later this season, so it appears UGA is in a great spot with him. But the fact that Spell is interested in eight schools shows how challenging this recruitment is going to be for Georgia.
