Georgia football may have missed on their No. 1 running back target last week, but it's clear that the Bulldogs have already moved on and have found multiple running backs they are now working for. On top of that, Georgia has also found a new rival on the recruiting trail that no one saw coming.
So let's dive right in and begin with an update on where Georgia stands with the No. 1 running back in the country.
Georgia makes final four for 4-star RB Savion Hiter
The No. 1 running back in the country is Savion Hiter. Friday Hiter announced that his final four consists of Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and Michigan and that he will be announcing his commitment on Aug. 19.
The consensus is that Michigan is the team that leads for Hiter, but no official predictions have been made in his recruitment yet. This isn't a recruitment where Georgia fans should get there hopes up, but anything is still possible with Hiter's commitment date still about a month away.
Georgia is keeping an eye on 4-star RB committed to Wisconsin
If things don't work out with Hiter Georgia does have another option at running back that they are showing a lot of interest in. Four-star running back Amari Latimer has been committed to Wisconsin since June, but he reportedly has been listening to UGA's pitch recently.
Georgia has told Latimer that there is always a spot in their recruiting class for him, so hopefully over the next few months the Bulldogs can convince him to ditch Wisconsin and come home and play for Georgia.
Georgia and Miami (FL) named college football's biggest recruiting rivalry
Georgia finds themselves up against a lot of the top programs in the country for many of their recruits they are targeting. This is especially the case with a lot of SEC programs like Alabama, Texas and Auburn. But Rivals on Friday proclaimed that UGA and Miami (FL) is the biggest recruiting rivalry in all of college football between programs in different conferences.
The Hurricanes have beat Georgia for a few recruits in the 2026 cycle, but Georgia has also taken Miami down just as much as well. Then adding in the fact that Carson Beck made the move from Georgia to Miami and it's clear that this is becoming a heated rivalry on the recruiting trail.
Georgia and Miami do not have any future games scheduled, but now seems like a great time to change that. And who knows, maybe Miami and Georgia will meet in the College Football Playoff later this season.
