Georgia's rivalry matchup against Florida is just one day away. The Bulldogs have been solid favorites over the Gators since Vegas released their opening spread, but that number has continued to grow as the week has gone on.
Injuries though are the thing most people are paying the most attention to, and one star Bulldog was just officially ruled out on Thursday. That however isn't the biggest injury news entering this game because Florida has a potential problem on their hands at quarterback.
Florida's lack of a decision at QB could haunt them
Thursday's injury report indicated that both Florida quarterbacks are still questionable to play this weekend. That obviously is a big problem for Florida, but their potential issues at quarterback are much larger than that.
Reports indicate that coaches within the program prefer Aaron Philo, who started their first six games this season, to start against Georgia. Fans however want Tramell Jones to play since he just led Florida to an upset win at Texas in his first start two weeks ago when Philo was hurt.
There's also a chance that players on their team have their preference over who they think should start, and even though both players are good quarterbacks the different viewpoints in the program could eventually boil into a controversy that puts themselves against each other.
Chauncey Bowens ruled out vs Florida
On Wednesday running back Chauncey Bowens was still questionable to play against Florida. Fast forward one day though and he was officially ruled out on Thursday's edition of Georgia's injury report.
This will be Bowens third game in a row that he will miss due to injury. He however appears to be close to a return because he was going through agility drills earlier this week which shows he is ramping up and getting back into game shape. This is a great sign because just one week ago the fear was that he could miss a majority of the season if not the entire year, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
Georgia obviously would be better off with Bowens in the lineup, but they should be just fine without him. They still have Nate Frazier who is playing in his second game since being injured along with Dwight Phillips who has been a superstar this year, and they could both have big days against the Gators.
Georgia continues to be favored by more points over Florida
Georgia originally opened as a 9.5 point favorite over Florida. That however has slowly grown throughout the entire week to the point where they are now favored by 12.5 points, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook.
This shift indicates that bettors are extremely confident in Georgia heading into this game. That isn't that surprising though since Georgia has dominated Florida over the last 10 years and are 5-0 after their last five losses and coming out of their last five bye weeks.
Florida however is still capable of beating them, but Georgia rightfully is a big favorite heading into this game.
Game odds adjust periodically and are subject to change.
