Georgia football is gearing up for their matchup with Florida this weekend in Jacksonville. But even though that is the main focus for the team right now, there were countless stories that unfolded off the field on Tuesday that captivated UGA fans and the college football world.
This includes one of Georgia's coaches being predicted to be named the next head coach at Florida.
Glenn Schumann predicted to be Florida’s next head coach
The college football coaching carousel this offseason is going to be one for the history books. Countless head coaches have already been fired including from some big name schools like Penn State, Florida, Oklahoma State and LSU. Georgia obviously isn't going to be firing Kirby Smart, but there is always a chance they lose an assistant coach to one of these job openings.
CBS Sports Tom Fornelli just made his predictions for who will be the next head coach at many of these schools, and Defensive Coordinator Glenn Schumann was predicted to be the next head coach at Florida.
This would be quite the turn of events considering Florida is one of Georgia's rivals, but if Schumann is looking to become a head coach the Gators would be a good landing spot for him.
DJ Lagway is creating even more distractions for Florida
Florida already has to deal with the distraction that comes from firing their head coach during the season, but quarterback DJ Lagway just added another distraction the Gators have to deal with now.
Lagway's younger brother is a defensive back in the 2028 recruiting class. He just received his first power four offer from Texas A&M a few days ago, and Lagway took to social media to celebrate this news. But his reaction left Florida fans thinking he might transfer to A&M to play with his brother.
The Aggies finished second in Lagway's recruitment out of high school and they are very close to his hometown. So there clearly are reasons why Lagway could make a move to Texas A&M this offseason, and now Florida has to sit and wonder the rest of the season if he is going to ditch them.
5-star Jared Curtis announces final decision
Five-star quarterback commit Jared Curtis made healines this past weekend. He decided to make a visit to Vanderbilt last Saturday for their matchup with Missouri, and the media went crazy over this news.
This media ran with this news as a sign that Curtis was thinking about ditching Georgia and flipping to Vanderbilt. That however couldn't be further from the truth because Curtis shared earlier this week that he is 100 percent committed to Georgia.
So UGA fans no longer have to worry. Curtis isn't going anywhere and he is going to arrive in Athens next year to begin his career at Georgia.
