Georgia is just a few days out from their first big game of the season against Oklahoma. This matchup already has a lot of drama being added to it as star Oklahoma defender David Stone suffered an injury this week that could keep him sidelined, but the Sooners have some hope that he will still be able to play.

Star Oklahoma defender David Stone appears fine after what was thought to be a gruesome injury
David Stone is an elite defensive lineman for Oklahoma. On Monday reports surfaced that he suffered a knee injury during practice that could be significant. His status for Saturday's game against Georgia was in question, but on Tuesday head coach Brent Venables shared that his X-Rays came back positive and he might be able to play this weekend.
Stone is arguably Oklahoma's top defender. He may only have 12 tackles and 0.5 sacks so far this season, but he is a projected first round pick at the upcoming NFL Draft. He would be one of the best defensive linemen Georgia would face this season, but UGA may not have to face him at all.
Oklahoma's first injury report will come out on Wednesday, so it will be interesting to see where he stands a few days out from this game. His status will have a massive impact on this game though because Georgia's life on offense would be much easier with him not on the field.
Georgia cancels 4 future games against Clemson
Georgia and Clemson recently announced that they have canceled four upcoming matchups. The two programs had two home-and-home series scheduled, but those games are officially no longer on the books.
This decision likely stems from the SEC and ACC moving to nine-game conference schedules. Georgia and Clemson both play 10 Power Four games every season already with their annual in-state non-conference rivalry matchups against Georgia Tech and South Carolina, so the two sides likely felt their series was no longer needed since their schedules were already difficult enough.
Georgia has their three traditional rivals (Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech), but after them Clemson may be their next biggest rival. The two campuses are only 70 miles apart and they have played over 60 times in their history. This is a matchup fans from across the country would love to watch, but they unfortunately won't be playing again anytime soon.
This is the fourth series Georgia has canceled in the past year as they have also canceled home-and-home series against NC State, Louisville and Florida State as well.
Previewing Georgia's upcoming SEC showdown against Oklahoma
Georgia football is undefeated through the first three weeks of the season. They are the No. 2 team in the country after dominating three overmatched opponents, but this Saturday they play Oklahoma who is the first opponent they'll face who is more on their level.
Oklahoma enters this content 2-1. They opened their season with a blowout 51-0 victory against UTEP but have struggled since. They lost 17-10 at Michigan in week two before narrowly beating New Mexico at home this past week 14-6.
Georgia is a two touchdown favorite over Oklahoma. A big reason for that is because of the poor play from Oklahoma's offense who could struggle in Athens against what has been a stellar Georgia defense so far this season. The Sooners however have one of the top defenses in the country who have only given up 7.6 points per game.
Georgia has won 51 straight games against unranked opponents. The Sooners are one of the best unranked teams Georgia has probably faced during this streak. They pose a serious threat to come into Athens and leave with a victory. Georgia is expected to win, but don't be fooled by the large spread because this will not be an easy game to win.
