Reports came out on Monday that Georgia and Clemson canceled four future non-conference matchups. This is the fourth home-and-home series that Georgia has canceled in the past year which leaves one final home-and-home series against Ohio State on their future schedules in 2030 and 2031.

Ohio State just wrapped up a series against Texas this year and begin a two-game series against Alabama next season, so it looks like the Buckeyes will want to keep this series with Georgia in tact. Georgia however could cancel this series because that's what they've done to four other teams over the last year.
Georgia vs Ohio State home-and-home series is officially on life support
Ohio State and Georga are scheduled to play in Athens in 2030 and in Columbus in 2031. These would be some of the biggest games in all of college football both seasons so it would be a shame to see them get canceled. Unfortunately the most likely outcome feels like this series will eventually be canceled.
Over the last year Georgia has canceled four future non-conference home-and-home series. This includes matchups against NC State, Louisville, Florida State and most recently Clemson who they were scheduled to play four times in 2029, 2030, 2032 and 2033. Ohio State is the only home-and-home series left, so based on what's transpired it seems like this series will eventually be gone too.
Georgia canceling all of these series is likely being done because of the SEC's move to a nine-game conference schedule that began this year. Georgia already has their annual rivalry matchup against Georgia Tech every season that isn't going anywhere, so they already have 10 Power Four opponents on their schedule every season and may feel that 11 is far too many for one season.
Georgia did schedule a neutral site game against Florida State in 2028 to replace their canceled series, so maybe the same could happen with Ohio State to preserve at least one game.
Georgia losing the Clemson series is terrible for college football
Georgia canceling their series against Clemson is bad for college football. Georgia and Clemson isn't as big of a rivalry for UGA as Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech are, but after those three Clemson would probably be next in line.
Their campuses are only 70 miles apart. Clemson and Georgia have also played 66 times in their history as well, with Georgia holding a commanding 44-18-4 advantage. These are the types of series college football fans want to see as it puts two storied programs that hate each other against one another, but college football is unfortunately moving away from these series and this was the latest casualty.
Georgia and Clemson last played in 2021 and 2024 which were both won by Georgia. 2013 and 2014 was the last time these teams met on their home campuses, and that series was split with each team winning on their home field.
Maybe Georgia and Clemson will schedule a future game at some point, but at this point that seems unlikely. There is always a chance these teams could meet in the College Football Playoff, but Clemson has fallen on hard times so it may be awhile before they are back in the CFP again.
