Georgia football is closing in on a few commitment dates for their top prospects, and because of that Thursday marked a big day on the recruiting trail for the Bulldogs.

So let’s dive right in beginning with the message one of Georgia’s top commits shared with a five-star linebacker.

Jared Curtis is all in on recruiting Tyler Atkinson

Georgia quarterback commit Jared Curtis has been helping Georgia’s staff in their recruiting efforts ever since he committed to Georgia. And in a recent interview, Curtis pointed at five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson who was standing behind him, indicating that he is doing everything he can to recruit him to Georgia with him.

Atkinson hasn’t announced a commitment date yet, but it’s expected he’ll come off the board in July. He will be deciding between Georgia, Clemson, Oregon and Texas, but the Bulldogs are considered the team to beat at this point in his recruitment. And Georgia’s chances should only increase with Curtis in his ear as often as it seems.

5-star TE gives rival Florida some love

Five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro is scheduled to announce his commitment on July 12, and UGA is once again considered the favorite to win. However, Prothro sent Georgia some mixed signals this week because he was seen working out with a Florida towel.

To be fair, Prothro also had Georgia gloves on as well, but seeing him in Gators gear as well is concerning considering Florida is a finalist in his recruitment as well. Thankfully UGA fans won’t have to wait much longer to see what Prothro decides, but this recruitment might not be as straight forward as people originally thought.

Georgia gaining ground with 4-star LB

Four-star linebacker Nick Abrams has announced four finalists which includes Georgia, Oregon, Michigan and Alabama. His commitment date is scheduled for July 16, but as of last week Georgia reportedly trailed both Michigan and Oregon in this recruitment.

However, a new report came out on Thursday indicating that Georgia and Oregon are now the top two teams in Abrams’ recruitment. Who knows how Georgia was able to catch Michigan in this recruitment so fast, but it now looks like Georgia has a chance to win this battle.
