Homecoming is right around the corner at Georgia as they are closing in on the fifth game of the their season against Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs are big favorites heading into this matchup, but an injury to Commodores quarterback Jared Curtis could be impacting his ability to play. That is one of the biggest stories impacting Georgia right now, but five-star Georgia running back commit Kemon Spell's recruitment has been a wild roller coaster the last few days to say the least.
5-star Kemon Spell set the record straight on where he stands with Georgia
At the start of this week five-star Georgia running back Kemon Spell was rumored to have interest in another mystery school. Spell came out and offered a simple message on social media attempting to turn that interest down, but new reports kept circulating that he is interested in other schools and wants to potentially take other visits.
The last report said that USC, Penn State and Virginia Tech were making pushes in his recruitment and that one of these schools was getting close to getting a visit on the books. This was the point when Spell had enough because he specifically called out this report and essentially said that none of it is true and he's all in on Georgia.

Anything is still possible in Spell's recruitment, but at this point it seems like he is completely locked in with Georgia and has no interest in visiting any other schools.
Jared Curtis injury completely changes the outlook of Georgia vs Vanderbilt
Georgia's opponent this weekend is the Vanderbilt Commodres. On paper this is an easy matchup since the Bulldogs have been favored by over three touchdowns since the spread was first announced, but Wednesday night Vanderbilt's starting quarterback Jared Curtis was marked questionable to play.
Vanderbilt's next injury report came out Thursday night, and he was still listed as questionable to play.
Curtis would likely be the biggest test Georgia's defense has faced up to this point in the season. He is a former five-star quarterback who would only be making his third career start, but he can throw the ball all over the field and isn't afraid to run with purpose either. He is someone that could give Georgia fits on Saturday, so that may make fans think it's a good thing if he doesn't play.
Curtis not playing would increase Georgia's chances of winning, but they don't need more help to win this game. Georgia is a massive favorite even with Curtis playing, so they might be better off facing a talent like Curtis who would prepare them for the future when they inevitably face another elite quarterback who has more talent around him.
Georgia vs Vanderbilt odds are changing fast
Georgia opened as a 24.5 point favorite over Vanderbilt, but early Thursday morning those odds changed one point to 25.5 points, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. This may seem like a small change, but it shows how impactful Vegas thinks Curtis' injury is.
As mentioned, word of Curtis' injury and potential to miss Saturday's game first came out Wednesday night. Then by the time people woke up Thursday morning the spread for this game already shifted one point. Georgia was already a big favorite with Curtis believed to be playing, but the potential for him to miss a game made Vegas almost immediately adjust this line.
Georgia should have no problem winning this game whether Curtis play or not, but Vegas agrees that they have a better chance with him on the sideline.
Game odds adjust periodically and are subject to change.
