Georgia is a perfect 4-0 and feeling great about themselves at this point in the season. Unfortunately they are dealing with one significant injury right now as starting running back Nate Frazier still isn't healthy. The Bulldogs need him back soon though because they have the most difficult portion of their schedule coming up after they host Vanderbilt this weekend.
Kirby Smart's latest update on Frazier's health was the biggest story on Monday for Georgia. The Bulldogs also found out what time kickoff is for their upcoming matchup at Alabama, but Frazier's health is far more important than whatever time Georgia and Alabama will line it up next week.
Kirby Smart refuses to update Nate Frazier's status
Georgia's starting running back Nate Frazier suffered an injury against Arkansas two weeks ago. Kirby Smart initially said that he expected Frazier to play against Oklahoma, but he ultimately did not see the field for even one snap.
Smart was asked for another update on Frazier during his press conference on Monday, and he refused to say anything concrete. All he said was to check their official injury report which will come out Wednesday night.
At this point it's impossible to know if Frazier will play this weekend or not, but since they're only playing Vanderbilt it may not be a bad idea to let him sit again so he has a better chance to be fully healthy before playing Alabama the following week.
Georgia to play at Alabama at night
Speaking of Alabama, Georgia just found out that their game at Alabama on October 10 will begin at 7:30 pm EST. This marks Georgia's first night game of the season in what will potentially be the biggest game of their regular season.
The argument could be made that playing at night will make winning this game more challenging for Georgia since the Alabama fans could be more into the game, but this also gives UGA a chance for a massive victory in front of a national audience.
Playing at Alabama will be tough no matter what time it's at, but this game could mark the start of something special if Georgia were to win.
ESPN metric names Georgia their No. 1 team in the country
Georgia may have inched closer to passing Texas for the No. 1 spot in this week's AP Poll, but they still sit at No. 2 behind the Longhorns. That's okay though because it doesn't matter all that much where Georgia is ranked at the end of September.
ESPN however has the Bulldogs ranked No. 1 in their predictive metric after their blowout win over Oklahoma.
Just like how the AP Poll doesn't mean anything right now neither does ESPN's ranking, but it's nice to see that Georgia is ranked near the top of pretty much every ranking out there. That doesn't guarantee they will win any championships this season, but it shows that as of now they are in the running to win the SEC and a national title this year.
