Georgia football received some huge updates on the recruiting trail on Wednesday. While one of Georgia's commits canceled their upcoming visit with an ACC program, the Bulldogs unfortunately got some bad news from the No. 1 linebacker in the country.

But the biggest news of all came in the form of another commitment from one of the nation's top recruits in the country.

Georgia adds 17th player to 2026 recruiting class

Wednesday was a new day in the recruiting world, but for Georgia a similar story unfolded. The Bulldogs have been adding recruits left and right the past month, and that once again happened on Wednesday with the commitment of offensive lineman Ekene Ogboko.

This wasn't just any commitment however as 247Sports names Ogboko as the No. 40 overall player in the country. On top of that, Ogboko's older brother is a current defensive lineman for Georgia as well.

So this commitment is potentially the most special so far this class because he is an elite talent who will get to play college football with his older brother in Athens.

5-star Tyler Atkinson schedules another official visit

Five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson is the No. 1 linebacker in the country. The good news for Georgia is that he is from the Peach State which means he has been on visits to Georgia more than any other program. In fact, this past weekend marked his 15th visit to Athens when he took his official visit with the Bulldogs.

While expectations are sky high for Georgia coming off of this visit, Atkinson isn't ready to end his recruitment just yet as he announced on Wednesday that he will visit Texas this weekend.

The Longhorns are a somewhat new program in Atkinson's recruitment, so that is a cause for concern. But Georgia has a substantial lead in this recruitment and it would be shocking for anyone to overtake them at this point.

Top Georgia WR commit cancels visit with Miami

One of Georgia's most coveted commits in the 2026 class is four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford. Spafford is so coveted that he has still been hearing from countless other programs even though he has been committed to Georgia since last November.

Spafford however has been welcoming these programs into his recruitment as he is one of the few Bulldogs yet to officially shut his recruitment down. He has also taken many visits to other programs throughout the last few months as well.

Spafford's next visit was supposed to be to Miami (FL) this weekend, but out of nowhere he decided to cancel that visit which is a great development for Georgia.
