No one can stop Georgia football on the recruiting trail right now. The Bulldogs earned their third commit in the last three days on Tuesday while also seeing positive developments with a future five-star quarterback.
But let's first begin with arguably the most important recruitment for Georgia in the 2026 class as a rival in the SEC is catching the Bulldogs for a coveted five-star recruit.
Texas is a serious problem for Georgia with 5-star Tyler Atkinson
Every Georgia fan knows the name Tyler Atkinson by now. He not only is the No. 1 player from the state of Georgia, but he is also the top ranked linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class as well. So it's clear why Georgia wants him in their class so bad, and Kirby Smart has made sure he knows that.
Atkinson took his official visit to Georgia two weekends ago, and all reports indicate that UGA was the clear leader after that visit. However, Atkinson visited Texas this past weekend and On3's Steve Wiltfong indicated that the Longhorns made a big move with him and are the biggest threat to Georgia right now.
Thankfully it sounds like Georgia still leads for Atkinson, but this recruitment is far from over.
Dawgs beat Florida for 3-star in-state DL
Georgia is fresh off landing a commitment each of the last two days, so surely there would be a break from commitments on Tuesday right? Kirby Smart had other ideas.
Not only did Georgia earn another commitment, but they beat out rival Florida in doing so. Three-star defensive lineman Corey Howard cut his recruitment down to Georgia and the Gators, but he ultimately chose UGA late Tuesday night.
While earning a commitment three days in a row seems like a big enough reason for Georgia fans to celebrate like crazy, they actually won't have much time to do so as all signs point to UGA getting more good news in the coming days.
Georgia makes big impression with new 5-star QB
Georgia's staff has begun putting a lot of attention on quarterbacks in future recruiting classes. One QB they have started pursuing is Jayden Wade in the 2028 class.
Rankings have not come out for the 2028 recruiting class yet, but Wade holds over 20 offers already with many of them being from major power four programs. Wade was also invited to the Rivals Five-Star Challenge this week as well, which again shows just how special of a player he already is.
When Wade arrived in Indianapolis for this event on Monday, he was pictured wearing a Georgia shirt. Wade also had a UGA towel on him during throwing drills on Tuesday as well.
So while Wade's recruitment has a lot of time left in it, Georgia appears to be in a great spot with him already.
