Thursday marked the second full day of the spring transfer portal window, and Georgia football was a lot more active compared to Wednesday. The Bulldogs received their first prediction to land a player while also scheduling multiple visits with other elite targets as well.
However, before getting into that good news, let's begin with the two Bulldogs who decided on Thursday to leave Georgia.
2 suspended Bulldogs leaving Georgia
Day one of the spring portal season on Wednesday saw just one Bulldog enter the portal in running back Branson Robinson. However, Thursday saw double the amount of players enter the transfer portal and decide to leave Georgia.
Those two players are wide receiver Nitro Tuggle and offensive lineman Marques Easley.
While it is never fun to see any players leave Georgia, these two leaving makes a lot of sense because they are both currently suspended indefinitely by UGA for unrelated driving incidents earlier this offseason. So while they are both solid players, they currently can't even play or practice at Georgia, so their departures are not that surprising.
Georgia's first transfer portal prediction
Georgia made a lot of noise in the transfer portal on Thursday, but no news was bigger than the Bulldogs earning their first transfer portal prediction. This prediction came for Alabama A&M defensive lineman Sedrick Smith, who was already on a visit to Georgia on Thursday when this prediction was placed.
Smith is not the most sought after transfer in the portal, but does that matter? Kirby Smart and his staff are as good as it comes at identifying and developing talent, so if they are motiviated to get a player then that should be good enough for Georgia fans.
So stay tuned as Smith could make his commitment to Georgia official at any point.
Multiple transfers visiting Georgia
Georgia has been getting a lot of visits on the books since the portal opened, with the first visit being from the already mentioned Smith. But UGA has plenty of other visits lined up as well with some of the best players in the portal.
North Carolina EDGE Beau Atkinson, Army EDGE Elo Modozie and Miami (FL) defensive lineman Joshua Horton also plan to visit Georgia as well. So while a commitment from Smith seems iminent, Georgia still has a lot of work to do with these three players. But hopefully UGA can come out on top with at least one of these players, especially at EDGE which is the Bulldogs greatest position of need right now.
