Everyone did their part for Georgia during their 7-1 victory over Texas at the College World Series on Saturday, but the MVP of the night by far was starting pitcher Joey Volchko.

While Georgia's offense more than held their own, it was Volchko who was the biggest reason they won this game. He pitched a complete game and only gave up four hits and one run while striking out a whopping 15 batters. Volchko gave Texas zero motivation all night long which allowed Georgia to cruise to a stress-free victory that is very rare at the College World Series.

Volchoko's teammates knew just how big his performance was, and to celebrate a handful of Bulldogs took to social media and changed their profile pictures to a picture of Volchko.

Georgia has everything Wes Johnson is looking for in his team

Is Georgia the perfect team? Perfect usually isn't the right word to describe a team that hasn't even won a National Championship yet, but it's hard to not think this team is perfect.

The Bulldogs have one of the most electric offenses in the country. Entering the College World Series they had 67 more home runs than the team with the second-most in Omaha. On top of that, Georgia was also averaging five home runs per game in their first five NCAA Tournament games as well. Offenses don't get much better than that.

Georgia's pitching has been the one "weak" point at times this season, but Volchko showed that Georgia's arms can be the most effective part of their team as well.

But this reaction on social media, while it may seem silly, shows just how much this team loves playing together, and that is what is separating them from everyone else. They can hit and pitch better than anyone and will laugh and have a good time while doing it.

This Georgia team is special, and they are just a couple wins away from playing for a National Championship.

Joey Volchko's CWS gem sets Georgia up for even more success in Omaha

Everyone knows how impactful Volchko's gem was Saturday night, but his performance will help Georgia find even more success in Omaha.

The best part about Volchko pitching a complete game is that Georgia didn't have to burn any of their other pitchers. So Georgia now has every pitcher available, other than Volchko, to throw against Oklahoma heading into their next matchup on Monday.

That fact could end up being the difference between falling short in their next few games or continuing to win and getting to the National Championship series.

Up next for Georgia is another SEC rival in Oklahoma. The Sooners are riding high after knocking off Alabama 9-0 on Saturday, so they by no means will be an easy team to beat. But Volchko did everything he could to not only to beat Texas but to set his team up for even more success in their next games, and that is something he deserves a lot of credit for.

First pitch between Georgia and the Sooners is scheduled for 7:00 pm EST on Monday, June 15.
