Georgia football earned the biggest win in college football this past weekend after taking down No. 5 Ole Miss 43-35. This win sent shockwaves throughout the college football world because Georgia announced that they are in fact one of the best teams in the country again this season.
So how did the AP Poll react to Georgia's big win? They rewarded the Bulldogs by shooting them up the rankings four spots to No. 5 in the week nine AP Poll.
Georgia skyrockets up Week 9 AP Poll
Georgia entered their matchup against Ole Miss as the No. 9 team in the country. The Rebels were the No. 5 team in last week's AP Poll, but the Bulldogs conveniently stole their ranking from them after their big win.
Georgia also benefitted from a few other upsets this week to move up this much as well. Carson Beck and Miami dropped their first game of the season to Louisville which sent them from No. 2 to No. 9. Texas Tech also lost their first game of the season as well which moved them behind Georgia as well.
Ohio State once again stayed put at No. 1 after holding Wisconsin scoreless on the road. Indiana moved up one spot to No. 2 after defeating Michigan State and Texas A&M and Alabama moved up to No. 3 and No. 4.
Georgia has five games left on their schedule and two of their opponents are ranked in this week's AP Poll. Georgia's SEC finale is against No. 22 Texas while their season finale is against Georgia Tech who has ascended to No. 7 after a 7-0 start to their season.
Up next for Georgia is the Florida Gators who just fired head coach Billy Napier on Sunday. Kickoff with the Gators is scheduled for 3:30 pm EST on Sautrday, Nov. 1.
