So far Georgia football has not had the best of luck when it comes to recruiting the transfer portal. Kirby Smart and his staff have been after a lot of players in the portal and have even brought a good amount of them in on visits as well, but the Bulldogs are still yet to earn a commitment out of the transfer portal.
The top priority for Georgia in the portal has been wide receiver, and Smart has brought in a large number of receivers in the portal on visits to Georgia. But they continue to receive bad news, which included the No. 1 player in the country being predicted to one of Georgia's rivals.
And the bad news isn't stopping as another target has chosen a different school over the Bulldogs on Wednesday.
LSU transfer WR CJ Daniels
According to Hayes Fawcett with On3, LSU transfer wide receiver CJ Daniels has committed to Miami (FL) after making a visit to Georgia in the last few days.
Daniels had a solid season with LSU in 2024, which was his first season at the power four level. He recorded 42 receptions for 480 yards which may not be the best stats, but is certainly something Georgia could have built on during his final season of eligibility next year.
On the bright side, Daniels did commit to an ACC school so they won't have to worry about facing him next season in conference play.
Georgia is also still after plenty of wide receivers in the transfer portal, so there is no need to panic. This includes Kentucky transfer Dane Key who was visiting campus on Tuesday as well as new portal entrant Zachariah Branch who is the No. 3 overall player in the portal. So Georgia still has plenty of very good options they are after, and if Smart can convince one to commit to UGA then that will be a big win for the Bulldogs.
