Georgia football has had four lingering injuries impacting them throughout the offseason and fall camp, but Kirby Smart believes they will all be ready to play in their week one matchup against Tennessee State.
Starting center Drew Bobo had foot surgery at the end of last season and then injured his hand during fall camp. Linebacker Gabe Harris also had surgery after a toe injury in the SEC Championship game last year. Both of these injuries significantly limited them throughout offseason practices, but Smart said they both are 100 percent ready to go.
“They’ve taken every single rep,” Smart said via dawgnation.com. “They’re good to go.”

Drew Bobo and Gabe Harris are expected to be starters for Georgia this year. This injury update from Smart is the best news possible for them both because not only will they play during the Bulldogs' season opener, but they appear to be 100 percent and ready to play their normal load of snaps.
True freshman wide receiver Craig Dandridge was recently spotted wearing a no-contact jersey during a practice, but he is reportedly good to go for Saturday's game as well.
Last but not least is safety Kyron Jones who missed the second half of last season due to injury. This injury kept him out for all of spring and a portion of fall camp as well, but he reportedly is back to full health and expected to start against Tennessee State as well.
There may be a few other lingering injuries that aren't public, but the Bulldogs should have a relatively small injury report heading into Saturday's season opener. They do however have two major injuries that occurred earlier this offseason, and they both might be season-ending.
Georgia's only key injuries may be season-ending
Transfers Amaris Williams and Dante Dowdell both suffered significant injuries this offseason, and the fear is that they could both be season-ending.
Williams is a transfer linebacker from Auburn who tore his ACL during a spring practice. He has said he hopes to be back by the end of the season, but it is extremely unlikely that he will be back that fast.
Dowdell is a transfer running back from Kentucky who suffered an off-the-field injury during the summer. It was reported to have occurred during an ATV accident, and while no specifics about the injury were shared with the public he did spend significant time in the hospital.
Neither player has been officially ruled out for the season, but they both more than likely will have to wait until 2027 to play their first games in a Georgia uniform.
Georgia will inetivably suffer more injuries as the season progresses, but their injury report to start the season could be one of the smallest in Kirby Smart's tenure. If Georgia can continue to stay healthy then they will have as good of a chance as anyone to win the SEC and make a deep playoff run, but it's impossible to predict who will get hurt and how badly they will be injured until the games are played.
