As Georgia football waits for their first College Football Playoff game on Jan. 1, it’s impossible not to look ahead to next season. There are a lot of reasons to be excited about next year, and one of the biggest is the changes that are coming at wide receiver.

Immense turnover at any one position is usually a scary thing, but after the season Georgia’s wide receivers had this year it might be a welcomed change in Athens. And it’s impossible not to be extremely excited when looking ahead at who could be featured at receiver next year for Georgia.

Elite wide receiver core for Georgia in 2025

It might be tough to figure out who could be starting for Georgia at receiver next season, but that’s because it could feature some brand new names to the program.

The first is Dane Key, who is a transfer receiver from Kentucky. Key has not yet committed to Georgia yet, but he just recently visited Athens and has received multiple predictions to commit to Georgia. And after recording 47 receptions for 715 yards this season, it’s easy to see why he would be a huge upgrade at the position and likely a starter.

The second receiver that could potentially start at Georgia next year is another transfer in Zachariah Branch from USC. Branch and his brother just visited Athens a couple days ago, and it happened to be their first visit since entering the portal. The duo also visited Arizona State right after they trip to Georgia, so UGA will have to hold off the Sun Devils. But Branch is the No. 4 overall player in the portal, so he too would be a starter next season along with Key if they commit to Georgia.

Last but not least, we have a receiver who is already in the program in Nitro Tuggle. Tuggle spent his first year in college at Georgia this past season where he did not see the field much and only recorded three receptions for 34 yards. This however isn't due to a lack of talent as he was one of the top receivers in the country in the 2024 recruiting class.

After the season Tuggle did test the transfer portal waters, but he ultimately made the decision to return to Georgia. Next year will finally be the year that Tuggle gets an opportunity on the field, and expectations will be high for him alongside Key and Branch.

Now there is still a lot of work to do before these three guys will be the starters for Georgia next season because Key and Branch still need to commit to the program. But it is definitely seeming possible that Georgia could land both, and if that happens then UGA's wide receiver room will be the strongest it has potentially ever been.
