It all comes down to this. Georgia hasn't made the College World Series since 2008, and since then they've only reached the Super Regionals one other time. But the Bulldogs find themselves in a battle with the Bulldogs of Mississippi State in a three-game series with a trip to the CWS on the line.
Georgia has gotten the better of Mississippi State all four times they've played this season, but that does not mean they will have an easy time advancing this weekend. Wes Johnson knows this and the entire team knows this, that is why they are calling on Georgia fans to help them out as much as possible when they take on Mississippi State in the Super Regionals this weekend.

Georgia fans have already delivered on the request Wes Johnson and UGA have made
Wes Johnson and the entire baseball program are calling on their fans to show up to Foley Field this weekend and create the best environment possible. That is the expectation whenever Georgia hosts a Super Regional, but that is especially important this weekend because of how good this Mississippi State team is playing right now.
The good news is that the fans have already answered the call. They immediately sold out Foley Field the second tickets became available, and that shows just how ready they are for this series this weekend.
Showing up is only half the job though. Fans need to be loud and create a raucous environment to give Georgia the best advantage possible because what's the point of earning home field advantage if the fans aren't going to give it to them?
Thankfully Foley Field was electric last weekend during the Athens regional, but they will need to be even louder this weekend.
Vegas predicts a heavywieght bout between Georgia and Mississippi State
Georgia's series with Mississippi State is one of just two Super Regionals that features two nationally seeded teams. That means it shouldn't be a surprise to find out that Georgia is the favorite this weekend with the worst odds to advance to the College World Series.
They are still predicted to win game one by 1.5 runs, but that's hardly worth celebrating.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
Georgia and Mississippi State both also have some of the best odds to win the College World Series as well, so the winner of this series will have a great chance to hoist the National Championship trophy in just a couple weeks.
Georgia may be 4-0 this season against Mississippi State, but all four games were extremely close. So while a 4-0 record is as dominant as it can get, Mississippi State will be a much tougher test than that record indicates.
Georgia will certainly be up for the task this weekend, and with their fans behind them they will hopefully clinch their spot in the College World Series for the first time in nearly two decades.
First pitch for game one between Georgia and Mississippi State is scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 11:00 am EST.
