If Georgia could only land 1 player from loaded official visit weekend, it's a no-brainer

Georgia needs one player in particular to commit after this weekend.

Georgia football is on fire on the recruiting trail right now. Earlier this week KIrby Smart earned four commitments from recruits who visited Georgia last weekend, and with another big weekend of recruiting on the docket this weekend the hope is that UGA will find similar success.

There are a lot of big name targets on Georgia's campus this weekend, but if only one player could commit to UGA after this weekend the choice is easy as four-star safety Jayden Aparicio-Bailey is the obvious choice.

Jayden Aparicio-Bailey would fill an obvious hole in Georgia's recruiting class

Georgia has been climbing up the recruiting rankings pretty fast recently. A few weeks ago they were outside the top 30, but after a dominant stretch last weekend they are back in the top 25. That however is nowhere near good enough yet, so Smart needs to continue adding really talented players.

Aparicio-Bailey fits that description as he is the No. 134 overall player in the country. Better yet he is the No. 9 safety in the 2027 recruiting class, and as it stands today the Bulldogs do not have a defensive back committed.

Once upon a time Georgia had two top 100 defensive backs committed to their 2027 class. Then disaster struck as Jerry Outhouse decommitted and flipped to UCLA while five-star Donte Wright flipped to Miami.

This sent Georgia back to square one in the secondary, but Aparicio-Bailey is someone they have had their eyes on for a long time even before losing Outhouse and Wright. Aparicio-Bailey has visited Georgia already throughout his recruitment, and after his last visit the consensus was that Georgia became the team to beat.

Now that he is back on campus it is important to earn his commitment so they can start filling up their secondary in the 2027 class. Aparicio-Bailey also has some other big visits coming up too, so it would be nice to get him to commit before those trips even happen.

Georgia must shut the door before Jayden Aparcio-Bailey makes more visits

Last week Aparicio-Bailey took an official visit to Clemson. Now he is visiting Georgia and is scheduled to visit Auburn and South Carolina the next two weekends. Beating Clemson will be hard enough, but the last thing Georgia needs is to give Auburn and South Carolina a chance to make a move in his recruitment.

If Georgia is the leader for Aparicio-Bailey like many believe then it would be ideal for them to earn his commitment as soon as possible. The last thing anyone wants is for other schools to have a chance to impress him, and if he takes these visits there is a possibility that will happen.

Just look at Ohio State who was the heavy favorite with a five-star defensive lineman who is now losing ground to Georgia after he took a visit to Athens last weekend.

So while it would be nice to earn a handful of commitments again just like last week, if Georgia could only chose one player to add Aparicio-Bailey is the obvious choice.
