Five-star Georgia quarterback commit Jayden Wade only has one game day visit scheduled for the upcoming season. That visit will occur on Sept. 12 when he visits Athens for Georgia's week two matchup against Western Kentucky.
The fact that he only has this one visit scheduled should give Georgia some confidence that he won't flip to a new school anytime soon, but it sounds like visits to other schools could be on the horizon. When Wade was asked directly if he has visits to other schools scheduled, his response isn't what Kirby Smart wants to see exactly.
“No, not yet,” Wade said via dawgnation.com.
Jayden Wade hints at future visits to other schools
It's nice to see Wade say that he hasn't scheduled any other visits yet, but he didn't say he will never schedule other visits. Instead he said "not yet" which implies that he might be planning on scheduling other visits in the future.
Michigan may be the most likely school to get a visit from Wade. They have been aggressively pursuing him for months now, and they haven't been shy about their interest by any means.
LSU is another team to keep an eye on as well. Lane Kiffin is known for doing whatever it takes to make his team better, so he should never be counted out when he has interest in a recruit that is committed to Georgia.
For now though Wade doesn't have any other visits planned aside from his trip to Georgia next week. Since Wade may have plans to schedule other visits later this year, the importance of this visit to Athens has increased significantly.
Georgia may need one final push to convince Jayden Wade to end his recruitment
Jayden Wade has remained loyal to Georgia since he committed last November. Georgia has been loyal to Wade as well dating back to when they first began recruiting him when years ago, and that loyalty is one reason why he committed to Georgia so early in his recruitment.
Georgia is hoping their loyalty will result in Wade shutting his recruitment down, and that has been on Wade's mind recently.
“It has been talked about for sure,” Wade said. “But I still want to have my options open just to see what’s out there. All the other coaches and to see how and what they talk about. I’m for sure locked in with Georgia, but it’s not shut down.“
Wade's visit to Georgia next week could be the moment when he shuts his recruitment down. If that occurs then Georgia won't have to worry about him scheduling visits to any other schools, but if he isn't willing to shut his recruitment down then who knows what will happen.
Wade is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2028 class, so securing his commitment this early in his recruitment would be one of the biggest recruiting wins of Kirby Smart's tenure. He will have a chance to do that next weekend, but if he can't get it done then Wade could end up visiting other schools later this year and that is the last thing Georgia wants to see.
