Countless schools are after Georgia’s prized five-star quarterback commit. Jayden Wade is the No. 1 QB in the 2028 class and he’s been committed to Georgia since November, but that hasn’t stopped multiple schools from trying to flip him.
Of all the schools after him it is the Michigan Wolverines that should concern Georgia the most. Not only are they a Blue Blood, but they just proved they can steal a five-star quarterback when they flipped Bryce Underwood from LSU who was the No. 1 QB in the 2025 class.
If Michigan can do it once then they can do it again, and according to reports they are the team pursuing him the hardest right now.
Michigan is looking to repeat past success by flipping Jayden Wade from Georgia
Underwood was committed to LSU for close to 10 months before Michigan got seriously involved in his recruitment. But once Michigan set their sights on him things changed fast.
The only reason Michigan was being taken seriously was because of a massive NIL offer Underwood was struggling to say no to. His NIL deal is reportedly worth upwards of $10-12 million, and even a big spender like LSU couldn't match that. After a few weeks of weighing his options Underwood officially flipped to Michigan and the rest is history.
Wade's recruitment is a bit different though. Underwood was from the state of Michigan, so that gave the Wolverines an advantage that doesn't exist with Wade. Wade is from the state of Florida, so if anything geography gives an advatage to Georgia over Michigan.
Underwood also has been underwhelming at Michigan so far. During his one year as their starter last year he only threw 11 touchdowns to go with nine interceptions, so Wade may want to avoid Michigan if they prove they can't develop Underwood.
But Michigan has a ton of confidence that they can flip Wade just like they did with Underwood, and a confident Michigan could give Georgia a little trouble.

Other schools have continued recruiting Wade hard even after he committed to Georgia last year. Throughout the past year though Wade has continued to reaffirm his commitment to Georgia and that once again occurred on Friday.
So as it stands right now Wade has no intention of flipping to any school which includes Michigan. But that won't stop Michigan or any other school from doing whatever they can to change his mind.
Wade won't be able to sign with Georgia until December of 2027, so they have about a year and a half still to go to hold off any attempt to flip him. So far they've been successful, but as the 2028 recruiting cycle ramps up into next year it's only going to get more difficult.
Georgia hasn't had the best of luck holding onto five-star quarterback commitments (we're looking at you Dylan Raiola and Jared Curtis), but they are hoping things will be different with Wade. So far everything has gone according to plan, but Michigan is confident they can turn the tides in his recruitment and a few other schools will push hard at some point too.
