The biggest game of Georgia's season is almost here. Georgia passed their first test at the College World Series by defeating Texas 7-1 Saturday night, but up next is an even hotter team in the Oklahoma Sooners who are itching to keep their magical NCAA Tournament run alive as well.

This game has all the makings of being an instant classic. Both teams are playing at a high level and are capable of scoring a lot of runs and having their pitchers dominate. However, this game will be taken to a new level thanks to the large viewership increase that is expected to occur during their game Monday night.

Georgia vs Oklahoma CWS showdown will benefit from increased viewership

So far college baseball's NCAA Tournament has had to battle much larger sporting events for viewership. Most notably it has been the NBA and NHL Finals who have been dominating the sports world right now.

When Georgia and Oklahoma both played their first games at the College World Series on Saturday the NBA and NHL Finals were both still going on. Fast forward to Monday though and both Finals have come to an end, so now it's time for the sports world to turn their attention to college baseball.

And what better game for these fans to tune into first than Georgia's matchup with Oklahoma Monday night.

Georgia has opportunity to show the world just how great they are

Georgia and Oklahoma will still have to battle the World Cup for viewership, but on Monday night they will be the biggest game on TV. The USA men's soccer team don't play on Monday, so a vast majority of sports fans will choose to tune into the College World Series instead of the random World Cup game between Saudi Arabia and Uruguay that will be going on at the same time.

American sports fans like baseball more than soccer in general anyways, so that will only add to Monday's viewership total as well.

The expected increase in viewership for Monday's game is a great opportunity for Georgia to show the sports world how special of a team they are. Not only do they look like the best team in the country right now, but they also look like the team having the most fun as well.

So Georgia could really show how special of a program they are if they can beat Oklahoma and put on a good show in the process.

Georgia has a lot more to worry about other than impressing the fans watching the game. In fact, the very last thing they should care about is what anyone outside of their dugout is thinking. But it's really hard to not think about how much the perception of Georgia baseball could change with a big win against Oklahoma at the College World Series on Monday.

First pitch between Georgia and Oklahoma is set for 7:00 pm EST on Monday, June 15. The winner of this game will take complete control of their four-team bracket and put themselves in prime position to make the National Championship series.
