Ole Miss, like every team in the country, is dealing with a handful of injuries heading into this weekend. The Rebels however are facing potential disaster on the defensive side of the ball.

EDGE Kam Franklin and linebacker Keaton Thomas are two of their best defenders on their team. The have played in all eight games this season but have been dealing with injuries throughout this week. Heading into Saturday's matchup against Georgia they are both questionable to play and game time decisions, according to On3's Pete Nakos.

Franklin so far this season has racked up 25 tackles and two sacks. Thomas on the other hand has totaled a whopping 55 tackles in the middle of the Ole Miss defense. Ole Miss has the depth behind both players to be able to survive their potential absence, but they will have a much more difficult time slowing down Georgia's offense if either player isn't able to play.

Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy will miss Georgia game

Not only could Ole Miss be missing some key pieces on defense, but star running back Kewan Lacy has already been ruled out for Saturday's contest.

Lacy is one of the best running backs in the SEC. So far this season he has 388 rushing yards on 78 carries and has found the end zone five times. The Ole Miss offense will look much different without him in the lineup, and that will benefit Georgia.

Ole Miss has a few options below Lacy on the depth chart, but they are nowhere near his level. The Rebels will have to rely on quarterback Trinidad Chambliss much more without Lacy in the lineup which could be tough on Georgia, but UGA will be better prepared to slow him down now that they don't have to worry about Lacy in the run game at all.

Georgia's been dealt good injury news heading into the Ole Miss game

Georgia has actually been getting some good injury news heading into this weekend while Ole Miss has been facing potential disaster on their injury report. For starters, transfer wide receiver Isiah Canion is expected to make his return this weekend. He only played in Georgia's first two games this season, so it will be nice to finally have him back after he's been sidelined for so long.

Georgia could also be getting running back Chauncey Bowens back as well. He has been out since the Vanderbilt game and his injury was originally thought to potentially be season-ending, but on Friday he was upgraded to probable to play against the Rebels.

These injuries for both teams will have an impact on this matchup, but both teams are still more than capable of winning. Georgia is a 3.5 point favorite heading into this game, but anything is possible when these two teams meet.
