A large contingent of Georgia fans do not like Mike Bobo. They would much rather have him out of the program than calling Georgia's plays on offense this season, but unfortunately for them he isn't going anywhere.
These fans that are against Bobo believe he is the reason Georgia hasn't won a playoff game in three years. They think his play calling is too predictable and that he doesn't put the team in a position to succeed against the best teams in the country.
There is a lot of data that prove these statements wrong, but none ring truer than the fact that Georgia has had the second-most explosive plays in the country over the past five years.
Mike Bobo's big play ability proves his haters biggest quarrel wrong
The anti-Bobo Georgia fans think that his play calls are too stale. They are adamant that he follows the same script every set of downs by running the ball the first two downs before attempting to pass for a first down.
This just isn't true, but these fans don't want to look at the data. They just want to complain about Bobo being a boring play caller and not explosive enough. Unfortunately for them Georgia has had the second-most explosive plays in the country over the past five years.
Bobo has only been calling plays for Georgia for the last three years, so this data does include two years he wasn't in charge of the offense. But if he was as bad at calling plays as people claim then Georgia wouldn't be No. 2 in the country.
Sure his play calls can be a bit boring or repetitive at times, and he absolutely loves calling more than his fair share of screen passes. But if his "boring" play calls lead to this many big plays then why does it matter what he's calling? He's clearly doing something right, so who cares what he does if it's working.
Kirby Smart is the biggest believer in Mike Bobo
Kirby Smart is tired of all the complaining from Georgia fans. He doesn't understand why people are so against Bobo, and all he wants is for fans to support him like he deserves.
Unfortunately the only way for that to happen is for Georgia to win a playoff game.
This year is a prove it year not just for Bobo but for the entire program. Three years is far too long to go without a playoff win, so it's time for Smart, Bobo and the entire program to get Georgia back in contention and make a deep playoff run.
Georgia has a team that is capable of getting back on top of the college football world. They also have a coaching staff who has proven to be plenty good enough to lead them to victory. All they have to do is put it together for one season and Georgia will be hoisting a trophy at the end of January.
And when that happens the praise for Bobo better be just as loud as the criticism was.
