Georgia football once again learned that one of their commits is in some legal troubles. On top of that, the Bulldogs had their name dragged through the mud by a former player at ACC Media Days.

Thankfully there was one good piece of recruiting intel on Tuesday, because the biggest story impacting Georgia was not great.

Georgia commit Chace Calicut is wrapped up in serious legal troubles

One of Georgia's top commits in their 2026 recruiting class is four-star safety Chace Calicut. According to the 247Sports composite rankings he is a top 10 safety in the country, so it's easy to see why UGA fans were excited when he announced his commitment to Georgia last month.

That excitement however has come to a crashing end after news came out on Tuesday surrounding the two aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges he is facing from an incident that occurred on July 6.

It's unclear how this will play out, but his standing in Georgia's recruiting class is definitely up in the air at this point.

No. 1 EDGE LaDamion Guyton is all in on Georgia

The No. 1 recruit in the country in the 2027 recruiting class is EDGE LaDamion Guyton. The five-star EDGE is from the state of Georgia, so that means the Bulldogs will have a good chance at landing his commitment. This sentiment is shared by 247Sports who currently has a prediction logged in Georgia's favor.

However, Rivals on the other hand has placed a more recent prediction in favor of Texas Tech.

Guton still has over a year to go in his recruitment, so time will tell if either of these predictions will come true or not. But Guyton on Tuesday shared that Georgia "is always going to be up there" in his recruitment. So no matter what happens, it is clear that UGA will have a chance to land the top ranked player in the 2027 class.

Carson Beck speaks down on Georgia during ACC Media Days

Former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck had his press conference on Tuesday at ACC Media Days. Beck answered a lot of questions about Georgia during his time in front of reporters, and in those answers he took multiple shots at Georgia.

This includes calling UGA his "last school" and saying that leaving Georgia was one of the best decisions of his life.

Georgia fans already wanted to do anything they could to ensure UGA has a better season than Beck and Miami, but these statements will only increase those feelings from the Georgia fanbase.
